(Updated from April 1) Palin Resigns!

UPDATE:  It was just a little April Fool’s joke, but I didn’t know that I could predict the future.  I doubt that I predicted the correct reason, but Mark Sanford and Sarah Palin make me believe that anything is possible.

Juneau, AK–In a shocking announcement, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has resigned.  A press conference has been set for 1:30 ET on Thursday, April 2.  No official statement has been release from the Governor’s office, but there is speculation that the National Enquirer has uncovered an extramarital relationship with her husband, Todd Palin’s, former business partner.

Sean Parnell (R), the Lieutenant Governor, will be sworn in as Alaska’s 12th Governor on Monday, April, 6. 

This is a devastating turn of events for the former Vice Presidential candidate and front-runner for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2012.  This is also devastating for a national Republican Party that is searching for an identity, after two consecutive congressional election losses, and the loss of the White House.

Requests for comment have been denied by the offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, RNC Chairman, and Sen. John McCain.  More below the photo…
