2009 NFL Mock Draft (Updated)

Many people get paid big bucks to prognosticate the NFL Draft–just think Mel Kiper and ToddMcShay of ESPN.  Now don’t get me wrong, they are great at what they do, which is, predominately,  evaluate collegiate football players.  Attempting to predict the first round of the NFL Draft is what gets the most attention, but it’s far from the only thing they do.  Saying that, they are not very accurate with their first-round picks, so I will take a shot at it.

I am no expert, and nobody can predict many of the potential trades that occur on draft day, so I have no illusions about predicting accurately.  I simply want to challenge the experts.  It’s not quite like picking stocks, where any monkey can outperform the so-called “experts,” but I couldn’t do much worse.

The two-day, seven round draft begins this Saturday on ESPN, so good luck to you teams.  My Panthers do not have a first-round pick, barring a trade, but I will still enjoy the drama.

*UPDATE:  I’m wrong already.  It looks like the Detroit Lions will select Georgia QB, Matthew Stafford.  To be fair, I’m only going to swap Stafford and Curry.
